Morwell Bowling Club Project

When a successful sports club, winery, or restaurant suffers unforeseen damage due to a disaster, leaving the building completely unusable. It’s not just a loss of space; it’s a loss of community connection, income, and momentum.

For the Morwell Bowling Club in 2024, an electrical fault caused a devastating fire, reducing their facility, a community hub and one of the busiest restaurants in town, to ashes. Beyond the physical loss, it left a gap in the local community, disrupting its role as a hub for events, dining, and entertainment.

The Morwell Bowling Club Community

The Morwell Bowling Club faced significant challenges. The fire caused a disruption to operations, cutting off income from daily activities and events. The inability to serve the community that relied on them added emotional weight to the situation.

On top of these difficulties were the uncertainties surrounding insurance timelines. They needed a temporary solution that maintained the quality and functionality of their brand while meeting the need to reopen quickly. The pressure to restore community engagement and financial stability was essential.

The Morwell Bowling Club needed a solution fast.

Thankfully, the insurance company moved quickly to have Morwell Bowling up and running in a temporary facility while they got to work on the permanent facility. From there, Australian Temporary Structures began building.

The Bowling Club's Solution

What they required was a temporary facility that addressed all their needs: a structure that could be installed quickly to minimise downtime, provide a welcoming and functional space for gatherings and events, and maintain high-quality finishes that reflected their standards.

Within weeks, ATS delivered a temporary facility featuring two buildings: 15m x 30m curved structures with 3m side height. The buildings included white vinyl roofs and gables, ISO and glass walling for a bright and professional finish, and double glass doors for a welcoming entryway.

This rapid solution allowed the club to accommodate regular patrons, generate revenue while their permanent building was being rebuilt, and restore its role as a community hub.
